From Tajikistan to Brazil - August 2022
Cellist Marjona Khasanova and pianist Jennifer Heemstra formed the Atlas Trio with two professional Brazilian violinists, Joao Machado & Cristiane de Leon. Atlas Trio performed at Escola de Musica, Universidade de Brasilia, Casa Thomas Jefferson, Iate Clube de Brasilia, SARAH Kubitschek Hospital and worked extensively with Instituto Riciclando Sons (IRS). IRS is a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP) that uses education as an instrument for re-socialization, social and productive inclusion for children, adolescents, young people and families in the Administrative Region, the Structural City built on the largest garbage dump in Latin America, the Structural Dumpster-DF, Brazil.

Soprano Susan Williams & pianist Jennifer Heemstra toured Brasilia, Brazil and premiered two songs by Dr. Rosephany Powell, Healing was written in memory of the Covid-19 pandemic and Dying in remembrance of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2020.

Michigan State University Pilot Study Abroad Program 2020
Kaleidoscope a journey through time Monday 2 March 2020 at 7:00 pm Be transported by the soaring melodies of the Michigan State University Spartan Winds led by Tasha Warren with pianist Jennifer Heemstra as they present a concert of classical, contemporary & jazz works. As a tribute to Decedge 2020 come hear movie hit songs from James Bond and Besame Mucho. This concert is part of the Michigan State University Study Abroad Pilot Program. The Spartan Winds – Mia Zamora, Valerie Nuzzolo, Tasha Warren and Marissa Mitchell along with Jennifer Heemstra will perform works by German, French, Italian, Argentinian and American composers. They will tour India with the Pitch Pipe Foundation and are grateful for the opportunity to kick off their week with a performance at the Goethe – Institute / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata. |

Smithsonian National Postal Museum February 14, 2018 at 6 pm Join us for a free evening concert this Valentine’s Day to reflect upon the many forms of love. All are welcome to enjoy the concert and explore the museum after-hours. We will also have a pop-up thank you note writing station, allowing concert participants to contribute to the cause of National Salute Week in a unique and personal way. The messages crafted during the program will be sent to veterans via Operation Gratitude. |

Kolkata Classics Tour November 2017
James Forger Professor of Saxophone and Dean of the College of Music at Michigan State University, Deborah Moriarty, Chair of the Piano Department at MSU and pianist Jennifer Heemstra performed in Kolkata, India.
Partnering with The Kolkata Classics, Forger, Moriarty and Heemstra worked with trafficked women and children at the sixth Kolkata Classics Hathor Health Fair, entertained the people of Kolkata in a large public concert, held an interactive kids concert at South City International School and enchanted guests at a private concert at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. |

July 2017 singer Chelsea Coyne and pianist Jennifer Heemstra toured Nepal performing in a series of free concerts for impoverished and vulnerable communities. They also gave free master classes to music students at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, the Nepal Music Center and the Sushila Arts Academy. |
